Today is Museum Selfie Day! What is Museum Selfie Day, you may ask? Good question! If there is anything we museum people love doing it’s explaining the origins of things. Well, Museum Selfie Day was started by Mar Dixon, a museum advocate. She runs a blog called Culture Themes were she tries to “highlight the fun and ‘unstuffiness’ of museums/culture” through the use of interesting social media hashtags. Today marks the fifth anniversary of #MuseumSelfie Day and her plan seems to be working.
